This was my last full week of classes at two of the three schools I teach at. And it's the time of year that Sean is done with coaching, so he was home from school as I was leaving for a late afternoon class. I brought bagels and veggie cream cheese to my morning classes since we were finishing class by watching a movie. Our shadows as we were out on a walk. And a super sweet student gave me a teacher appreciation day gift.
Next snack for students was cake batter rice krispie treats. If we're sitting down, Paddington is on our lap. I snuck a photo of my students working on their project posters. While they worked on posters I planned my summer class and the schedule allows for a little movie watching...I promise "Rudy" is a great example of Sociological concepts. Reading with a decaf iced tea latte.
We actually has a few minutes in the backyard...life is pretty nice when school starts to wrap up. Greek salad for dinner. I wore one of my favorite skirts to work (I should have cleaned that messy mirror). Mac went to the mall after work and Facetimed me for an opinion. He brought home a banana strawberry sundae cupcake for us to try.
Four of my seven in-person classes finished this week and I was lucky to get some of the most amazing notes from students. Our "Change Makers Gallery" posters up around the classroom. Sean and I went out to dinner on a school night. Sean was helping a neighbor take care of their dogs while they were away. This year at one of my schools I've had my own office with a window in a building that barely has windows, so as an adjunct I technically didn't deserve it, but it sure was nice.
Monday through Thursday breakfast is overnight oatmeal, Friday it's half a multigrain bagel and a little iced coffee. Shopping to fill the pots on my mom's front porch which is a Mother's Day tradition. Gummy bear snacks for my nephew and nieces that did an amazing job in their school musical.
Attempting to make a crumb topping to bake up for a greek yogurt parfait for a Mother's Day breakfast. Paddington is a lot more lonely since Shamrock passed away a couple of months ago, so Paddy will stay nearby even is we are in the shower. Went to a softball game and got to see one of my students. Breakfast casserole for the next morning.
My nephew made my mom a digital Mother's Day card. My dad was in town for about twelve hours on his way back home to Oklahoma from a work trip in the Philippines, so my sister suggested a family breakfast. Gifts for my mom...her birthday fell on Mother's Day this year, but Sean, Mac and I are going to celebrate it with her later this month. One of friends completely surprised me with the sweetest flower delivery as a belated birthday/Mother's Day gift. My whiteboard in my bathroom where I map out the week in an attempt to not forget anything (it doesn't work) and the numbers on the side are tracking the 1,000 sit-ups I decided I wanted to do in the month of May.
This is my eighth year in a row documenting a week in the life...I might not scrapbook (or blog) as much as I used to, but I wasn't going to miss this.
