This summer I read "Dinner: A Love Story" and was amazed that the author had kept a journal where she listed every family dinner for more than a decade.
I am very strategic about cooking each week, so we always have leftovers around here. Therefore a dinner journal would be pretty boring. However, it occurred to me it would be fun (and handy) to keep track of the gifts we give.
I decided on these notebooks and simply stamped "gifts" on the cover. The end.
Or at least the end of any craftiness, it's just the beginning of keeping track. My hope is to have a list that is years and years and pretty much the rest of my life long.
Since the notebooks came as a set, I broke out the letter stamps again and made a place to keep track of cooking ideas. Mostly for the tips and tricks I hear when we watch a few of our favorite cooking shows...like mixing teriyaki sauce with mayo for a Hawaiian burger. I don't necessarily need the whole recipe (I'll save that for Pinterest), just the idea...especially if it helps me think of even more ideas.
