Since my first year teaching, my fall semester students get "college isn't scary" cards and in the spring there are "some bunny wants you to do well" cards.
I go around with a little draw string bag as my students work in groups and have everyone reach in for one...it's fun to see their faces go from somewhat skeptical as they reach in, to smiling and laughing as they read the card. And they often jokingly ask if they can reach in for more than one card.
