As I mentioned earlier this week, Mac's cousin graduated from high school and we went to a party for her this past weekend. I am so exited she'll be attending the state college I teach at in the fall. And since I recently spent six years as a student, I put together a kit of everything I found to be supper handy.
I included this note...
Mint gum to help you stay awake during a boring class
A mini stapler to make sure your assignments are always stapled in case you have a mean teacher like me who will take points off. And you can be someone else’s hero when they forget to staple their paper.
A mini hole punch so you can put class handouts in your binder
Hand sanitizer to keep germs away
Kleenex so you don’t have to use toilet paper from the bathrooms and you won’t be the student constantly sniffling in class
A flash drive to save your work from the library computers
A bright pink flash drive holder so you don’t forget to take it with you
Carabiners for your flash drive holder and one to hook your car keys in your backpack so they are easy to find when you are tired from a long day at school
Pencils for note taking and scantron tests…with extra lead and erasers.
A set of bags to keep stuff organized in your backpack
I packed it all up in box for her to store the extra supplies and wrapped it (and then forgot to get a picture of it wrapped).
All of these things might be a little random, for instance I don't usually give Kleenex as a gift. Despite that, it was super fun to brainstorm all of these little details and, hopefully, this "kit" will help her be well prepared.
