Over the last week I thought about a few things I'd like to do this next year. Most of them are pretty random and inconsequential, but I guess that means they are doable.
1. Catch up on Mac's scrapbook by his 18th birthday this summer. 18? 18! 18? I cannot believe that's happening. And speaking of eighteen, I think that's about how many months I am behind in scrapbooking.
2. Start a Kiva loan. I have thought this is such a wonderful idea for awhile now and my paycheck needs to make one happen.
3. Try one recipe a month from the Cook's Illustrated cookbook. My brother gave this to me for Christmas and I joked I could take on Julie and Julia type endeavour to cook the entire thing, but at least one recipe a month seems a little more manageable.
4. Use candlesticks more often. I told you some of these were random. I had candlesticks out on the dining room table at Christmas and loved watching the tapers burn down.
5. Get my watches fixed. Sean got me this cute watch for Christmas. As I was putting it away I realized the other couple watches I have are not working, which means I haven't worn a watch in well over a year. It would come in really handy to start wearing one again for when I am in a classroom without a working clock. Then I don't have to break my own no cellphone rule to look at the time.
6. Find a really good lemon bar recipe. Not that I am going to bake it...we all know Sean is the baker around here.
7. Finish crocheting a blanket. I started one in 2013 and it would be very nice not to have it sitting around unfinished when it's 2015.
8. Run one 5K a month. I can run (more like a shuffle-y jog) 3.1 miles, so I should more often...even if it's just on the treadmill.
