Ribbon, puffy paint and glue guns were in full force around the dining room table tonight. I am only a couple months into this cheer team booster president stuff, but I have never in my life appreciated the idea of community more...the whole "it takes a village" concept. There have been moments that have driven me over the edge when parents are not willing to contribute, don't answer emails or phone calls or do not show up to volunteer when they've said they will. There have also been moments where I have been overwhelmed by the kindness and willingness of parents to work incredibly hard for their child and the rest of the team. This evening was filled with those great moments, it included a dozen girls and moms (and Mac and Sean) committed to getting something done together....eighty hair bows before the team leaves for camp later this week. Granted making bows is such a ridiculously small detail in relation to world but, despite its minutia, it is a reminder of how important every single little contribution we make around us can be.
