1. I concocted this pizza Saturday night. It's a meatball, zucchini, mushroom, caramelized onion and goat cheese pizza with a tomato alfredo sauce. As the name might suggest, it took about 112 tasks to make it. We might not have eaten until 9pm, but it was darn good.
2. We had a great two weeks off. Sean starts teaching summer school today and Mac starts cheer practice at 7am everyday.
3. I need teenager advice. What can dear, sweet McIntosh do besides looking at a phone screen or television all day long? He struggles with reading comprehension, so he's not really a fan of much of that. I have a handful of ideas and had him write a list of fifteen other activities he could do, but we would love to hear any suggestions.
4. I started writing and rewriting syllabi for my three classes this fall. My ideas are just getting crazier though...sociological research scavenger hunts, book club meetings...without the wine, and making something from Pinterest to analyze the feminine phenomenon of creative domestic pursuits. I have the best job ever.
5. We made a fire pit in the backyard...I shared a photo of Sean building an example at the hardware store last weekend. We placed gravel at the bottom of the fire pit, since we had plenty. Sean sent a photo of the finished product to his Dad and he wrote back making sure we didn't have gravel in the firepit since it can explode in the heat of a fire. Thank goodness he told us...I cannot imagine how terrified we would have been if that had happened. Did you know that gravel can explode?
