Mac goes to a small montessori school and the 8th grade graduation usually involves a speech from each of the students at a banquet dinner. He has really wanted to attend so he was very exited to find out he was invited by a friend last week...but then again today also. Two different families put him on their guest list which means he's been paid for twice. So I'll be calling the school tomorrow to work out the details, but as I said to Sean and Mac this is a good problem to have.
Over the weekend we were at our neighbor's high school graduation party. She has been a fantastic family friend, babysitter and house sitter. We would have never been able to take our big road trips over the last few years if it weren't for her. As she has been deciding on colleges Sean and I both offered our encouragement for her to go away to get the full experience. So when we found out she is headed to school in Colorado I tried to brainstorm a gift that might come in handy away from home. I did some research on the area, read reviews for local eateries, called the college for any suggestions (they were super helpful) and found out her favorite fast food places from her parents. I called the best rated local pizza place to have them mail me some gift certificates and a menu. I printed out maps and business hours for the various places and made her a little kit for when she wants to avoid the food on campus...
Considering Mac's lucky double graduation attendance we'll have to keep shopping for more congratulatory gifts.
