It's the night before Mac's first day of school. We're required to pay a supply fee at his school and they provide everything for him...but he is my kid and he LOVES school supplies. So considering our shared obsession I just had to get him a little pencil box and fill it with a few things.
I found one at Staples, but it was plain blue and we can't have that, so Sean helped me brainstorm how to y to make it cute. he had the brilliant idea of iron-on patches. We pick some up...I'm in love with the cute owl and totally excited to get this thing cute and filled.
But it kind of melted...
So we were back to the drawing board...looked around for another pencil case but ended up with the same one. No more iron-ons...neither of us can draw...you can't really stitch on it...so some checkered ribbon and fabric glue got it looking a little cuter.
Which means we ended up paying $26 dollars for the darn thing due to the initial pencil case debacle.
But it's all filled...cute clips to keep paper organized...post-it flags...precautionary hand sanitizer..and owl bookmarks...
I used the idea that I liked so much, but kept them simple...
I also got the tags made for the teacher gifts...
Finally tonight when I get home from class sometime after 10pm I will be attempting to fill a bento box for Mac's lunch...just because I've been enthralled by the idea for months now (from reading about it here and here)...and hopefully since his is my kid, he will be too.
