We are completely immersed in summer vacation mode...these are the days that I wish will never end as Sean and I putz around the house, run an errand, or lay around watching TV (we just completed season two of Mad Men tonight).
I really should be using some of this aimless time to be making stuff...but I haven't so here are a couple of things I made last week...
Mac's card had a typed background full of declarations of disbelief that he has become a teenager...
And a card for a friend's baby shower this past weekend...
My new favorite thing is to sew a little fabric "envelope"...which is really a glorified pouch...just a few attempts at straight lines and a top snipped with pinking shears...
One of my errands with Sean was to purchase a bed...a simple wire frame we decided we liked last month...when we went back to buy it yesterday we were thrilled to find it $50 cheaper than before...
Having actual furniture will take some getting used to after nine years of simply having our mattress and box spring sitting on a rolling metal frame...it's a lot higher up...those extra inches made it feel like sleeping in the clouds last night.
And now I'm dreaming of this...
I'm plotting a reading corner in our bedroom where the stack of fall semester textbooks will seem so much more fun...I'm about ready to Craigslist half the house to make it happen.
