We decided to have Mac stay in school this summer, but it occurred to me that since Sean has every Friday off from teaching summer school that I should check and see if it'd be okay for Mac to have Fridays off too. In order to combat that fact that it sucks to be in school during the summer I decided to make Fun Fridays...last week Mac had a play-date and this week was going to be tricky since we didn't have a lot of time before he went to Bryce's for the weekend, but it occurred to me yesterday that he's mentioned that he wanted to check out the Bower's Museum...so we went to the Kidseum for a couple of hours this afternoon. It was basically one big room with a ton of noisy musical instruments, a bunch of tribal masks and huge paper-mache animal heads, and an area to get dressed up in a bunch of different clothes and shoes...oh and a little craft room and face painting...oh oh and about two dozen kids from a YMCA camp running amok. For the first couple of minutes it seemed like a bust...until Mac started trying on all these different shoes...and then we hit the craft room and learned how to make pinwheels (not quite sure where I've been, but I never knew how easy they are to make...I'm seeing lots of patterned paper pinwheels in my future) & then he had his face painted like a tiger...definitely a fun Friday. :)
