I was making this tortellini soup earlier today to have for dinner tonight. Instead of frozen vegetables, I added onion, garlic, carrots and spinach. Oh and I added beef...because I am shamefully lost in this world without meat.
I used a squeeze of tomato paste and immediately grabbed a sharpie to write the date that I opened it on it...which I do with pretty much every condiment in our fridge. I should do it with more items in our pantry too.
I don't know if everyone does this too or no one does, but I'll admit it has been an incredibly handy reference when cleaning out the fridge. Because even though the italian dressing might not expire for a couple more weeks, it helps to know it's been cracked open for three months or something.
