12 on the 12th...

1. Woke up a little early and stayed warm under the covers watching the news 2. Apparently Mac was really happy on the way to school 3. New slippers 4. Stopped by Old Navy for some gifts 5. Craft supply shopping 6. Clouds rolling in 7. Brunch after errands 8. Preparing for our little 12 days of Christmas activities 9. Switching to red thread 10. Mac and Sean working on homework 11. Making Frito Snack Mix for a dozen of Mac's teachers and instructional aides 12. A little drizzle didn't stop us from our nightly walk

12 on the 12th...

1. I lay in bed while Sean does more exercising after he runs. 2. I shared some wrapping ideas on The Gifted Blog today. 3. Putting away a huge pile of laundry. 4. One of our neighbors is selling her house and gave us their exercise bike that was barely used in exchange for helping them sell a bunch of items on Craigslist. 5. It was 62 degrees upstairs today...time for slippers. 6. The combo of buy one roll get a second for $1 and a $5 off a $10 purchase means I have new holiday wrapping paper I wanted, but certainly didn't need. 7. Thanksgiving decor on the front porch. 8. Starting to wrap my brother's birthday gift. 9. A bunch of card stock strips for a 12 Tags class idea. 10. A cup of afternoon tea for all three of us. 11. Mac had his first full day of wearing contacts. 12. Our (almost) nightly walks are now in the dark.

1. This was the first morning that it was cool enough to want to stay warm in bed 2. The canine trifecta sleeping the morning away 3. A fall craft that's been taking forever to come together. 4. Getting some thank you notes ready for the stores that donated to the cheer team 5. Needed a new notebook from the office supply cabinet 6. Loved today's cloud filled sky 7. The alma mater at the end of the Homecoming assembly 8. Decorating the stadium for the Homecoming game 9. The girls got head wreaths and Mac got a boutonniere 10. Mac and the mascot (she's his Homecoming date tomorrow) 11. Nachos at the football game...so bad, but so good 12. An exciting moment in the game...we almost tied it up.

Of course this time it's more the 12 from the 12th because I am sharing it late, but I didn't want to miss it entirely. Can't believe there's only three more 12th's for this year...where is time going?

1. High school drop-off 2. A little scrapbooking 3. Spending it before it expires 4. The best sliced turkey ever 5. Got a plant for our bedroom 6. I couldn't resist 7. Picked up a batch of photos 8. Mac came home for cheer practice with a scraped elbow 9. Super-duper happy day...new stamps 10. Leaving notes in Mac's locker during back to school night 11. Lost my phone for a nightmarish hour last night 12. Late night talking on the couch

1. When I wake up on Sunday morning I immediately watch political shows 2. The current state of Mac's room (it's being painted) 3. My new favorite tea 4. Grocery list 5. Paying our teenage neighbor who took care of the house and dogs while we were gone 6. Some supplies for Mac's room 7. Hot and humid today as thunderclouds loomed in the distance 8. Late afternoon snack 9. My child is the only person who would wear a thick denim jacket when it's a 100 degrees 10. Raiding a local bakery 11. A little scrapbooking 12. This roasted broccoli recipe is amazing

1. Rarely write a check 2. Couldn't resist 3. Navigating a new campus to drop off an application packet 4. Flowers on the dining room table 5. I'm eating a tomato everyday 6. The crayons from the graduation party ended up in a jar in our family room 7. Making cheddar ale dip for a party tomorrow 8. These mantle decorations will come down this weekend 9. A very rare rainy summer day...so humid 10. I was part of a research panel on religion...completely fascinating 11. Sean ran to Costco 12. Tuxedo brownie cups made late at night for tomorrow's party

This little monthly project has documented half a dozen 12th's now. Today's version seems to be twelve errands on the 12th...

1. Trying a chiropractor for my migraines. 2. Six years later and it's still not fun to have to go in here for a shower gift. 3. Getting church birthday gifts for our nephew and niece 4. Finding a birthday gift for my niece...my inner feminist might cringe, but my inner eight year old was thrilled 5. Getting more travel supplies. 6. A cup of broccoli cheese soup. 7. More gift card wrapping...a graduation gift for one of Mac's friends. 8. You know I had to get this tape. 9. A favorite neighborhood tree from our walk after dinner. 10. Karate class. 11. Stopping by Trader Joes for some supplies on the way home. 12. Getting ready to host a friend for dinner tomorrow night...first up croutons for a salad.

Love that the 12th of this month turned out to be our day out in Palm Springs...

1. After yesterday's rain there were lots of white, puffy clouds 2. We made it 3. Had to check out the Ace Hotel 4. Perfect weather 5. I took too many windmill photos 6. The rainbow of paint at the Saguro Hotel 7. I will dream about the potato salad at Tyler's Burgers for a while 8. I usually don't really like palm trees, but had to get a shot considering where we were 9. A little thrift shopping 10. Looking for some mid-century houses (this is the Kaufmann House) 11. Stopping by the outlets on the way back 12. And the cloudy sky as we got closer to home

1. I really like the color green 2. Today's bracelet 3. The stack of photos taunting me to scrapbook them 4. Notes from my research observation this morning 5. Lemon water 6. On my way to student teaching 7. I officially love iced coffee 8. Empty classroom 9. Sean's eight minute nap after school 10. Dinner (Bolognese Bread Pizza) 11. Lighter later 12. Our nightly walk 

12 on the 12th...

1. Ipad-ding all comfy cozy in bed.
2. Messy desk.
3. Romantic comedies playing in the background.
4. Potting some new plants.
5. Cracking open a new can of breadcrumbs for meatball making (I always write the day I open something).
6. Our next door neighbor always brings us the coupons from his Sunday paper.
7. Cleaning out the kitchen window box.
8. A favorite family side dish even though it comes out of a box.
9. Got out of the shower a couple minutes before we were hosting a family dinner.
10. Finally figured out Mac's Valentines.
11. Mom brought Thin Mints for dessert...we only eat them frozen.
12. Stitching during the Grammy's.

12 on the 12th

I have always liked the idea of documenting 12 on the 12th...just capturing a dozen little bits of your day each month. I thought it'd be especially fun to do a 12 on the 12th in 2012... 

1. The day's to do list. 2. A basket full of tea to start putting together wedding favors. 3. An attempt at craftiness. 4. The vanilla sugar my brother gave me for Christmas (that is so darn good in tea). 5. Our front door was missing a screen that was off being repaired. 6. Waiting to meet up with the professor I will student teach with next semester. 7. A mid-day craft idea. 8. Left a little "winter" on the mantle since there certainly isn't any happening outside. 9. Kettle corn snack. 10. Post office run after picking up Mac 11. Mr. Griffin's team lost. 12. The picket fence has been moved for a third time in about a year.  

Can't wait to see all 144 details gathered together at the end of the year.
